The UCI has imposed a fine of 100 Swiss Francs on Eli Iserbyt after his disqualification, following his altercation with ex-teammate Ryan Kamp during the Exact Cross in Beringen. That reports The Newspaper.

It was a very striking moment last Saturday, in the Exact Cross of Beringen. In the fifth lap, a chasing group including Eli Iserbyt and Ryan Kamp seemed to return to the leaders, but at the moment of connection the two went to the ground together in a steep descent.

According to the Belgian champion, the Dutchman was clearly to blame, because Iserbyt deliberately stepped on Kamp’s spokes. The latter did not just let this happen and ensured that Iserbyt could not continue immediately. A short discussion followed. Not much later, both riders changed bikes, but the bike change did not make much sense for Iserbyt. He was taken off course in the sixth lap.

Apologies
The two riders were taken into account The Newspaper heard by the UCI jury after the race. Iserbyt would have to pay a fine of 100 Swiss Francs, amounting to 106 euros. The Belgian seems to have gotten away with a relatively light sentence. The apology would have played an important role in determining the sentence.

By comparison: from now on, riders are no longer allowed to throw away their waste and other materials everywhere and can only deposit them in the designated material post or a special waste zone. With this new rule, which was previously implemented in road cycling, the international cycling union wants to create a cleaner and more sustainable sporting environment.

For a first violation, the fine can amount to 250 Swiss Francs, which is approximately 265 euros. Repeated violations may even lead to disqualification.
