The Soriana Badminton Delegation closed the XXVII edition of the Provincial Circuit with the dispute of the third test of the 2024 season in which the champions of the three categories were decided.
Víctor Ortega revalidated the title in the absolute individual category after taking second place. Víctor is a classic at the top of the provincial competition in previous editions. The winner of the third test was Daniela Corchón, a position that earned her second place overall. Manuel Acero accompanied them on the podium thanks to great consistency throughout the season.
The senior duo formed by Manuel Acero and Santiago Martínez won this last tournament, reaffirming their first place. The female couple composed of Daniela Corchón and Ana Peñaranda with their second position repeated their position in the general classification, sharing the bronze with the duos composed of Alfonso Peñaranda and Víctor Ortega and on the other hand José Carlos Pérez and Álvaro Sanz.
In the sub17 category, Daniel Marín won first places in both singles and doubles with Álvaro Gómezhis usual companion. Carmen Gómez would also repeat her position with two runners-up finishes, in the doubles team with Isabel Corchón. The rest of the third places were achieved by María González, in singles, and Daniel Bravo and Nadia Valero in doubles.
Finally, the smallest players in the province competed in the s category.ub-13 where Adrián Rosa as an individual and the tandem composed of Elena Izquierdo and Lucía Rosa rose to the top of the box. In singles, Candela de León and Eduardo Hernández qualified in second and third position, with Eduardo Hernández with Adrián Rosa and Candela de León with Candela Sánchez completing the doubles podium.
The acting provincial delegate, Manuel Acero, was in charge of presenting the trophies.
In addition to this event, part of the Soria-CS24 Badminton Club youth team combined this test with other events throughout the weekend. In this way, in the Navarrese town of Estella, Aarón Barrera would rise to second position on the podium in the men’s doubles sub15 together with the Aragonese Juan García. Carmen Gómez would complete the list of medalists with her bronze in the under-17 individual.
Finally, Jimena Ayllón would travel to Liencres to compete in the Cantabria Master, obtaining third place in the mixed doubles modality along with Saul Bernabéu from Oviedo.
