The top game of the eleventh round of the Bundesliga between LASK and Sturm Graz had a match winner, and his name was Lovro Zvonarek.
The Bayern loanee netted in the 84th minute for a 2-1 win for the “Blackies” (to the match report>>>). It was his debut goal in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, in which he now seems to have really arrived.
“It feels incredible,” said the winning goalscorer happily to “Sky” after the game, but he was humble: “The most important thing is the win,” he immediately added.
The not so easy winning goal

This hits the nail on the head, because it was by no means certain that Graz would take three points from Linz after LASK’s dramatic increase in performance after the break.
The athletes even pushed for the lead or winning goal at times and also had an extraordinary opportunity to do so thanks to a spectacular 70-meter attempt by Zulj, which Scherpen was able to defuse with difficulty.
But it wasn’t the LASK captain who was supposed to be the shining hero of the top game, but rather the storm youngster, who was also pleased to receive praise from his coach.
And it’s a real good feeling…
Christian Ilzer commented that it wasn’t easy to exploit the ball that Jörg Siebenhandl had defended in the middle LAOLA1-Demand. “To meet him so clearly…” he says with satisfaction.
The Sturm trainer didn’t want to be tied down to whether it was Zvonarek’s best game to date in a Sturm jersey. “When I look back, he also played a very good game against Altach,” he recalls the game in which 19-year-old Mika Biereth skilfully scored the opening goal.
“It’s just a good feeling when you can bring in some really good guys from the bench.”
Christian Ilzer
In this respect, for Ilzer it is “simply a good feeling when you can bring in really good guys from the bench.” He is “very happy for him (Zvonarek, note) personally that he scored this goal.”
Great on site, but also outside of it
Things are going well for Zvonarek at the moment, but that wasn’t always the case, especially at the beginning of his involvement with Sturm. “Sometimes things don’t go the way I imagined. But that’s football, you have to accept that too,” he says.
This down-to-earth attitude is undoubtedly what sets the youngster apart, as his coach also emphasizes: “He is a top character,” says Ilzer.
It was a tough fight in Linz, says Zvonarek. Just like for him to really arrive in a storm. He took the next step against LASK.
Ilzer emphasized once again that he was a “very, very talented player”. Zvonarek was able to really show this in the top game. From Sturm’s perspective, it is certainly to be hoped that such events will become more frequent.
This is how much the Bundesliga jerseys cost in the 2024/25 season
