For a moment, things looked bad again for Manchester United. After a controversial goal by Brentford, they had to go into halftime behind, but after the break United corrected the lopsided situation with 2 nice goals. The score became 2-1 and the Ten Hag team jumped to 10th place.

A sigh of relief went through Old Trafford after the final whistle. Manchester United again won against Brentford, although it did not go smoothly.
For example, Matthijs De Ligt injured his head after 10 minutes. He was bleeding heavily and had to be taken to the side after a collision with Schade’s knee.
De Ligt was able to continue playing, but had to be left off twice more in the first half – in which virtually nothing happened – due to his head wound that continued to bleed. That was also the case in added time. The Dutchman just converted a ball into a corner kick, but the referee did not allow him to defend himself. He had to move aside.
And just on that corner Brentford scored through Pinnock. Ten Hag became furious on the sidelines and went into the dressing room with headaches.
But the dark clouds quickly disappeared in the second half. After just 2 minutes, Marcus Rashford delivered a great cross to Garnacho, who finished just as beautifully.
And on the hour mark United completely corrected the lopsided situation. With a subtle heel, Bruno Fernandes guided Højlund through the defense and the Dane finished it off with a lob: 2-1.
United then easily held their own against a defenseless Brentford. Diego Dalot came closest to scoring, but the Portuguese just couldn’t get to the ball enough to finish.
With the 3 points, Ten Hag buys some breathing space. United is also sliding a bit in the standings. They jump over Brentford and are now 10th with 11 points from 8 games.
