Sporting won a difficult victory against Damaiense 1-0, in a game counting for the sixth round of the Women’s Football League. This match, held in Marvila, marked Micael Sequeira’s debut as coach of the Lionesses.
The only goal of the match was scored by Telma Encarnação, in the 89th minute, through a penalty, guaranteeing the three points for Sporting. With the result, the Lionesses remain firmly in the fight for first place, adding 12 points and occupying third place in the table, with one game less than leader Benfica, who has 18 points.
Damaiense, in turn, is in eighth place, with four points. In the next round, Sporting will face Racing Power, while Damaiense will have a difficult trip to Benfica.
