Five games, five wins – and now two defeats in a row: the Minnesota Vikings‘ strong start to the season is a thing of the past. This is good news for a German NFL professional.
After the perfect start to the NFL season, the Minnesota Vikings lost a second time in a row and suffered a setback in the fight for the division victory. The Vikings lost 20:30 to the Los Angeles Rams. The week before, the Vikings suffered their first defeat against division rivals Detroit Lions led by Amon-Ra St. Brown and now slipped to second place in the NFC North. The Lions will play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, who have only won one of six games so far, and can consolidate first place.
The Rams returned to the fight for the playoffs with their second win in a row and now have three wins and four defeats. The Seattle Seahawks are at the top of the NFC West with four wins and three defeats. The Rams and Seahawks play each other next week. Seattle will face the strong Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The division winners each have a guaranteed place in the playoffs.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford impressed against the Vikings with four touchdown passes for Los Angeles. A mistake by the referees, who overlooked a foul on Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold with two minutes left, sealed the Rams’ success.
