At the ceremony held at Gray Beton Bodrum Stadium and attended by Sipay Bodrum FK President Fikret Öztürk, a three-year contract was signed with Volkan Demirel.

In his speech at the ceremony, Fikret Öztürk said that they were happy to see Volkan Demirel in Bodrum. Thanking İsmet Taşdemir for parting ways, Öztürk said, “He brought us 2 trophies in three years. He took us from the 2nd League to the 1st League and from there to the Super League. I could not be at the farewell ceremony, but our coach left us with good memories. It is beneficial to change blood.” “We think that my brother Volkan is like a child to me. He is a friend of ours who we see regularly. We welcome him here, we think it will be good for Bodrum.” he said.

Explaining that they came with his team for a three-year project, Demirel said: “We have goals in this project.
