For the first time, the Volkmars badminton department’s top league team was able to serve in front of their own crowd. The TVV scored one point less than hoped.

Volkmarsen – The home advantage in front of numerous spectators in the Nordhessenhalle was not enough for the first win – the TVV won 4:4 against SV GutsMuths Jena III and lost clearly against Totteam OTG Gera.

Volkmarsen – Jena III 4:4. With top player Marcel Krafft returning after an injury, the momentum for Volkmarser’s first win of the season should come.

His vest remained white, he won singles and doubles. Nevertheless, the bottom line was that there was only one point.

In the first men’s doubles, Marcel Krafft/FelixDrude Kampczyk won 21:18, 21:11 against Kunow/Faßbender. Lena Riebeling/Katharina Kampczyk had to admit defeat in the women’s doubles with 17:21, 12:21 Preiß/Conrad.

Sebastian Becker and Christian Krafft had a not so good day in doubles. The Volkmarser duo didn’t get into their usual game and lost 15:21, 19:21.

Women’s singles was very tight for a long time

In the women’s singles it was very tight for a long time. Katharina Kampczyk had victory on her racket in the second set, but had to admit defeat after three sets with 21:19, 22:24 and 11:21.

Marcel Krafft, who also finished third, did better. Sentence had to. With 22:24, 21:15 and 21:17 he defeated Kunow and got his second point for the team.

Sebastian Becker lost to Faßbender in the second men’s singles with 16:21, 18:21, so that the score was now 4:2 for Jena.

But the hosts kept their nerve. The third singles and mixed doubles were still pending. Christian Krafft fought through a shoulder injury and won the match against Michel with great fighting spirit 21:17, 18:21, 21:16.

Alongside Felix Drude Kampczyk, Lina Riebeling scored the important fourth point for TVV in the mixed doubles – a confident 21:10 and 21:12 against Belke/Conrad.

Volkmarsen – Gera 1:7. In the second game on Sunday morning, the team second in the table was a guest. For TVV it could have been closer than 1:7.

Becker/Kampczyk lost to Henke/Lesser in two sets, as did Kampczyk/Riebeling to their opponents Plötner/Schulz. Marcel Krafft and Carsten Tegethoff were closer against Krüppner/Forner in the second doubles. At 16:21, 21:19 and 12:21 there was a lack of precision in the third set.

Sebastian Becker and Katharina Kampczyk’s individual games were close. Becker improved enormously, but was narrowly defeated by 7:21, 21:18, 19:21.

Kampczyk gets an honorary point for TVV

Katharina Kampczyk lost to Schulz 16:21, 17:21. Marcel Krafft was able to stand up to Henke for a long time in the first set, but then lost even more clearly in the second set: 23:25, 8:21.

Lina Riebeling also delivered an impressive performance against Krüppner/Plötner, this time alongside Carsten Tegethoff. However, that didn’t prevent the 17:21, 20:22 defeat.

Felix Drude Kampczyk got the honorary point for TVV against Forner in the third singles (21:14, 21:16.)

Next weekend Volkmarsen will continue with away games in Darmstadt and Schwanheim. (red)
