There was music, joy and laughter on the tatami of the Épinal dojo on Sunday morning. And the predominant color was of course pink. For everyone. For the 4e edition of kimonos organized by the Epinal judo club, 126 people, women, men and children combined, followed a very friendly and cheerful taiso session.
Objective achieved
“The taïso is a bit of a judoka’s warm-up. This is similar to fitness because there is no fighting or throwing to the ground. It’s catchy and a lot of fun,” explains Virginie Dulot, president of the judo club. Who had set a goal with his colleagues: to beat last year’s record which saw 96 people show up. Objective achieved since the bar of 100 participants was largely exceeded.
All proceeds donated
This allowed the leaders of the JCE to hand over a check for 390 euros to the League Against Cancer. “We ask for €3 for registration and we donate the entire proceeds to the League,” specifies the president. Who appreciated that members of many Vosges judo clubs made the trip to Épinal.
Especially since members of other local associations also played the game. And who knows? Perhaps this will make some people want to sign up for the taiso sessions that the club offers three times a week. A fun activity which is above all accessible to everyone on a physical level.
And a little clarification, wearing a pink outfit is not obligatory. Of course!
