The water bomb that fell shortly after midday on Barcelona and its surroundings created traffic disruption with the intervention of the Local Police who, for safety reasons, closed some underpasses on the motorway and the railway line to transit.
The situation is also complicated in Calderà in the area close to the bridge over the Longano stream, recently rebuilt with a slope that pushes the water towards the center of the hamlet, creating flooding on Via Calderà itself. The usual river of water has been created from the Portosalvo field in the Fondaconuovo area and only a respite in rainfall can avoid more serious consequences for the residents of the area. A car breaking down on the Oreto state road, flooded in the section at the intersection with Saia Pantano, created delays, with many motorists taking the Eolie road and the Ragusa road to reach Merì.
The Civil Protection councilor Salvatore Coppolino recommends caution to motorists and asks them to limit travel only to those necessary. Local police patrols and municipal technicians coordinated by the surveyor are present in the area. Dammit.
