The WBSC will implement the system, which uses Doppler technology, across its flagship baseball events worldwide, including the WBSC Baseball World Cups and the WBSC Premier12 presented by RAXUS, which starts on November 9.

Trackman is extensively used among top professional teams globally, as well as in golf, and will provide advanced analytics to improve broadcasts and bring fans closer to the action.

The WBSC and Trackman share a mission to elevate the global standards in baseball through Trackman’s cutting-edge technology and data.

“I am very excited by this new partnership between the WBSC and Trackman, which will provide data to help take the storytelling of our sport to another level,” said WBSC Executive Director Michael Schmidt. “As the WBSC’s baseball tournaments become increasingly popular, Trackman will enhance our ability to engage fans and elevate the game.”

“Trackman’s partnership with the WBSC opens a new chapter for baseball on a global scale,” Morty Bouchard, Manager of Accounts at Trackman, said. “This partnership is very exciting for Trackman and the WBSC to finally bring ball tracking to top international events to fans and players. This collaboration further expands Trackman’s already leading footprint in baseball globally with over 700 stadiums equipped with the Trackman Technology. “

Golfers and brothers Klaus (CEO) and Morten Eldrup-Jørgensen and radar engineer Fredrik Tuxen (CTO) created the company in 2003 with headquarters in Vedbæk, Denmark.

Trackman is used by all professional teams in the United States and Japan, plus the majority of professional teams in Korea, Taiwan and Latin America. It provides the world’s largest and most influential digital baseball scouting platform with the portable B1 aiding player-development and V3 providing an in-game tracking solution.

The company’s official website states: “It started with a question. Could we track a golf ball? It was just one question. But since 2003, there have been so many more. And that relentless desire to seek probe, test and push has remained at the heart of the company philosophy. That’s why our technology leads the industry. With solutions across golf and innovation in baseball, soccer and American football too.”
