The Minister of the Interior, on France Inter, declared himself in favor of stopping matches in the event of homophobic singing.
“It has become unbearable. We can no longer tolerate homophobic chants. We can no longer tolerate racist invective. We can no longer tolerate violence as was the case on the return journey on the A9 which we had to close a few days ago after the match Montpellier-OM (0-5, October 20). The Minister of the Interior is due to receive French football leaders this Thursday. He assures: “They must take their responsibilities. I want to accompany them. Simply we will now have to identify the individuals. We identified two of the leaders who launched homophobic chants (at the Parc des Princes). So identify them, arrest them, prosecute them and sanction them. They must be severely punished. We must make even more use of judicial bans on stadiums, administrative bans.
