Despite the setbacks linked to bad weather on July 11, the Judo Club du Bassin Houiller reopened the doors of the dojo, avenue Léo Lagrange, in Decazeville, to start a new season. The new premises located at the rolling mill II being currently unusable, the club, in agreement with the municipality, has returned to its old premises. Many young and old, girls and boys, have taken or retaken a license. There are around fifty of them treading the tatami mats of the dojo since September, with sessions spread over several days.

A new team of parents and dynamic volunteers bring a breath of fresh air. And two new coaches are running the courses: Némo Laude, 22 years old, who was trained at JCBH and successfully completed his coaching diploma, and Meddhi Sablon, an experienced trainer who will bring his experience to the licensees by offering Ju- jitsu, once a week (classes from 15 years old) after the All Saints holidays.

A prize pool to finance the work of the dojo

“We hope to stay in the dojo which is well suited to our discipline, with a large car park nearby. The club will put a participatory prize online to be able to finance part of the necessary work. The JCBH, an old association in the city but still full of resources, hopes for a surge of solidarity to save this martial art present in Decazeville since the 70s! Brand new tatami mats are just waiting to be installed after the building has been renovated in order to continue to offer the residents of the Basin! sporting activities in better conditions”, insists President Sandrine Conte.

Judo classes are aimed at adults and children aged 4 and over, and the JCBH is offering this year, twice a week, Taiso classes for those over 16 (flexibility, cardio, muscle strengthening, etc.). Registrations are still possible.
