The football podcast When We Were Kings will be shut down.

Erik Niva and Håkan Andreasson announce this in a video clip.

– We feel that there is a limit to how many socially rooted football stories can be told in roughly the same way, says Erik Niva.

On the fifth anniversary and after 265 very long episodes to say the least, it is announced that the popular podcast When We Were Kings will be shut down.

The reason is that Erik Niva and Håkan Andreasson want to finish on top and that the content should not lose in quality.

– Because we are melodramatic and macabre, we want to use this fifth anniversary to announce that we are shutting down. We are discontinuing the podcast. Everything has its time and our time is almost over now, says Erik Niva.

Until March

They won’t end the podcast with immediate effect, but say they want to finish the season and come up with new episodes until March.

After the last episode is published, they will also immediately go on a farewell tour to say thank you and hello.

In WWWK, Erik Niva and Håkan Andreasson talk about football clubs, football players and football seasons that have left their mark on history in different ways.
