Tom Brady is now not only an NFL broadcaster, but also the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders team.

The most successful pro in NFL history received approval from fellow owners Tuesday to buy a 5% stake in the Raiders. Owner Mark Davis and Brady essentially agreed to the deal months ago. Among other things, Brady’s role as a television pundit for the station Volpe but it took a long time to think about it.

In preparation for the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s entry, Brady has been banned from attending production meetings or accessing the facilities of other teams or their coaches and players since the start of the season and from his job as a television pundit . He is allowed to commentate on Raiders games, but is not allowed to criticize the referees. This rule applies to all team owners in the league.

“I look forward to contributing to this organization in any way and honoring its great tradition,” Brady wrote on . Majority shareholder Davis said in a statement that he hopes Brady can be helpful in choosing a quarterback in the future “and possibly even coaching him.”

No sign of returning

If the 47-year-old Brady were to come out of retirement and return to the NFL a second time, he would have to sell his shares. Brady is already a co-owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Raiders owner Mark Davis also owns the majority of shares of the women’s basketball team that has won the title the past two years. Brady also invests in third division English football club Birmingham City.

The Raiders have been waiting for a Super Bowl win since 1983. The Raiders haven’t won a playoff game since losing in the Super Bowl in January 2003 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team, which has lost four of six games this season, on Tuesday parted ways with receiver Davante Adams, who will play for the New York Jets following a trade.
