On October 5, for the second match of this new badminton season, with a second victory but this time at home, the Sternes de Ploubaz are already flying to the top of the rankings.
Sitting in the front row, Jean Pierre Lec’hvien and Benoit Schlieper, the president and secretary of the club, do not miss a second of this first match of the first team, witnesses of a story which is perhaps not not at its peak. A story that began in 2007 within the Sport Loisir association, until 2014, when the Sternes stood on their own two feet, starting a decade that saw them climb the ranks one by one. A club which today has 90 players, five competitive teams including one which plays in pre-national, one in regional and three in departmental, without counting the succession provided by the young people under the leadership of Gwenaël le Collen.
There will be a show at the Ploubazlanec gymnasium
For the first match at home, the Sternes have already integrated the codes of the Prenationale in which they now play. One of the only clubs to evolve at this level in the department and the only one in the commune. Enough to delight the Ploubaz audience who came in large numbers for this premiere. With nine days of competition, including Saturday, a different opponent at each match and five home matches, there will be a spectacle at the Ploubazlanec gymnasium.
If the stated objective is to maintain, the first two victories with a score of 6-2 have put the Sternes tied for first in their group, then all hopes are allowed for Kevin, Malaury, Hippolyte, Maud, Alexis, Léna , Thibault and Élodie and why not, the rise to National 3.
Practical
Next meetings for the Prenationale on October 26 in Rennes against REC Badminton, November 16 in Brest against the Manchots de la rade and November 30, return to the Ploubazlanec gymnasium against Flume Badminton.
