After three years of a very fruitful collaboration (Roland‐Garros 2022, 2023, 2024, US Open 2022), Iga Swiatek and Tomasz Wiktorowski recently decided to separate. The now ex-coach of the world number 1 broke his silence and clarified things in comments collected by the media Onet Sports Review.
“There has been a lot of speculation and innuendo… Certainly too much, considering that the message that was published very precisely defines our decision. Just read it with understanding, not with the intention of trying to cause a sensation. The end of our cooperation was done with respect for both parties and no fake news will change anything. I think in general we had a very good relationship within the team. During three years of intensive cooperation, it is impossible to avoid difficult situations, but even then we have always found a way to reach an agreement and get back on track. Iga and everything related to preparing a player to the highest level has always been a priority for us. It was simply a necessity. We have never made sudden and, above all, rash decisions. »
