Yankees overtake Guardians in Championship Series

Los New York Yankees They took the opening game of the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians.

The Yankees added another turn in the fourth inning, when Judge hit a fly ball to center field and Venezuelan Gleyber Torres advanced to the buzzer.

The Guardians increased the difference to 5-1 in the sixth inning with a return from Venezuelan Brayan Rocchio.

Stanton added a run in the seventh inning on a pitch by reliever Erik Sabrowski. Thus he completed 13 home runs in the postseason.

The Guardians reached the buzzer for the second time in the eighth inning, when Steven Kwan hit an indisputable hit that Venezuelan Andrés Giménez capitalized on.

Luke Weaver (4) took the mound and completed the final five outs of the game. He struck out three and got the save for the Yankees.
