Youth Athletics Stars Shine at the U18 Championships in Peru

In the 100 meter dash, sprinters Mariano Fiol (with a time of 10.96) and Cayetana Chirinos (12.23) emerged as winners in the male and female categories, respectively. In the women’s 400 meters, Ximena Vásquez (PHOTO) was the winner with 59.33, while Ian Matos won the men’s category with 50.80. Vásquez also stood out in the 100-meter hurdles, where she recorded 14.98 and placed second behind Domenica Crose, the new champion with 14.91.

So far, in the women’s division, Kimberly Flores has been the outstanding figure thanks to her javelin throw of 43.23 meters. On the other hand, in the men’s category, the final of the 3,000 meter dash was the most notable event, with Edwar Márquez taking the victory by clocking 8:35.97, followed by Robert Apaza (8:43.96) and Mucha Cusman Paucar (8:43.96). 52.65). It should be noted that Márquez also triumphed in the 1,500 meters, with a time of 4:04.61 on the first day.
