Zamorano judo is crowned in charro lands and wins the Championship of Castilla y León

This Sunday the Castilla y León judo championship in the senior category took place in Villares de la Reina (Salamanca) and Judo Morales traveled there with four representatives.

The Judo Morales club, the only representative of Zamorano judo, participated with a very young team, since of the four, three are cadets and one junior won a gold and a bronze.

Isabel Fernández -57kg without luck in the draw, she couldn’t pass her league.

Juan Meana -60kg, competed very well, in the fight that guaranteed him at least bronze and despite scoring an Ippon on his opponent, the judges after watching the video decided that Juan rested his head when performing the technique and that is sanctioned With the loss of the fight, he had to settle for a fourth place, which from what was seen there is little.

Miriam Silvares -52kg, a great championship she held, Mirian who came with doubts because she has a shoulder injury, still achieved a hard-fought bronze. The fight for bronze lasted more than 10 minutes, taking into account that the fight time in this category is 4 minutes.

Finally, Elena Bahamonde -48kg, taking into account that she was not only competing in two higher age categories also in a higher weight category, gave her rivals no options, winning all the fights by Ippon (highest score in judo), and was proclaimed regional champion.

These results show that Zamorano judo is still in a very good state. The Zamora judo delegation wanted to congratulate these great athletes and encourage them for next weekend when they will be in the Spanish Cup to be held in Avilés.
