Tragedy and mourning in the Malaga basketball. A 14-year-old player has died during training with his team in Ronda. The young man was training at the sports center and collapsed on the field, dying practically on the spot, in front of his teammates and the coach. Rayan Zakar was a Moroccan national but settled in Ronda with his mother. The teenager had not trained for several months, as he had been temporarily removed from basketball due to health problems after suffering a heart attack several months ago. He had undergone medical tests during this time and recently had another medical appointment in which a stress test was performed and he was discharged, with the determination that he could play sports normally, hence he returned to the courts.
Unfortunately, after training this Tuesday, he knelt, collapsed and died instantly, without anyone being able to do anything to save his life. Rayan’s body was taken to the Serranía de Ronda Hospital (Málaga). His club, the Arunda Hawks, has suspended the next scheduled games and plans to pay tribute to him this Saturday.

At that moment he knelt and collapsed, dying practically on the spot,” according to what they told CharryTV club sources. “It didn’t take the police three minutes to arrive and they treated him with the defibrillator, but it was not possible to revive him,” they added.
The mayor of the municipality, María de la Paz Fernández, He also regretted the loss of the young player. “I want to convey my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family and sports colleagues of young Rayan, who has left us too soon,” he wrote on his social networks. Rayan studied at the Gonzalo Huesa Institute and was very loved in Ronda, leaving a huge gap especially among his family, colleagues and friends. Born to Moroccan parents, Rayan will be buried in the coming days in Morocco. His loss has caused a great shock both in Ronda sports and in the city in general.
