1,500 athletes arrive at the Playhall

A weekend of challenges on the tatami. Over 1,500 athletes and technicians arrive in Riccione for the Csen national judo championship. Today and tomorrow the 39th national event will be held at the Playhall with competitions for the female and male categories from all the regions of Italy. There will be the very young ones, then moving up through the categories up to the masters, everyone will show off their belts of various colors leading up to the black one.

On the tatami of the Playhall the competitions will take place today, from morning to afternoon, for the men’s and women’s youth Grand Prix in the children’s, teenagers’ and beginners’ categories. All other categories will compete tomorrow. Athletes ranked first and second in the cadet, under 23, senior and master brown belt classes will be able to earn the coveted first Dan Csen black belt. Cinzia Cavazzuti, former Italian judoka finalist at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics, gold at the 2001 Mediterranean Games and 2002 European Championships, will be present at the event. Cavazzuti holds the role of vice president of the Lombardy regional committee of Fijlkam-Coni for the judo sector. “Riccione continues to represent a sought-after destination for the world of sport and all sporting disciplines – commented the councilor for Sport Simone Imola -.
