23-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper suffers from tumor

Aged 23, Mala Grohs, goalkeeper for Bayern Munich (Germany), announced this weekend that she was suffering from a malignant tumor.

The German goalkeeper from Bayern Munich announced the bad news this weekend in a video posted on social networks.

Despite the severity of her illness, she remains positive and optimistic. “It’s a challenge I never thought I’d have to take on one day. But with everyone’s help, I’m sure I will overcome it and make a full recovery. I am in very good hands with the doctors here in Munich,” she said.

And she can count on the unwavering support of an entire club, which has decided to extend her contract for one year (until June 2026).

“In these moments, sport takes second place. Our club and the entire FC Bayern family support Mala Grohs. Mala is a wonderful and strong person, she will receive all the help we can give her. We will support him in his healing process,” assured President Herbert Hainer.

Mala Grohs arrived at Bayern Munich in 2019. After playing with the 2 team, she made her professional debut in 2021, playing 81 matches and winning three German championship titles as well as the Super Cup with the Bavarian club.
