The Judo club of the commune, assisted by the Judo club of Salindres and that of Alès, organized a friendly inter-club competition, Sunday November 17 in the gymnasium of the Corbières sports hall, in Saint-Ambroix, in which athletes from the four corners of Gard competed.
Saint-Privat-des-vieux, Vauvert, Saint-Gilles… all came together in an exemplary sporting atmosphere.
Judokas aged 4 to 15 years old
The competition took place under the watchful eye of Mayor Jean-Pierre De Faria, Gérard Dubourget, president of the Gard judo committee, André Sauton, departmental technical advisor for Gard judo, and Maurice Souche, administrative manager of the Occitanie league judo.
No less than 385 judokas aged 4 to 15 came together from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A large audience came to encourage and support them in their performance. The Saint-Ambroisian club had prepared 300 medals for the participants and the town offered an additional 100, allowing all the competitors to leave with theirs.
The town’s judo club is on the rise.
Pedro Llinares, president of the club, assisted by Laurent and Stéphane Llinares, all three state graduates in the field, thus prove, if necessary, that this sport is very present in the department and the region.
