38th All India Postal Badminton Tournament in city from November 10 to 14 : Welcome to Mysooru News

Mysuru: The 38th All India Postal Badminton Tournament is set to take place from November 10 to 14 at the Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium in the city.

The Department of Posts, Karnataka Postal Circle, has organised this national-level event, that aims to foster sportsmanship and camaraderie among postal employees across the country.

This eagerly awaited tournament will feature 194 players from 20 postal circles, including 134 male and 60 female participants. The tournament will be conducted in various categories, such as singles, doubles, veteran singles, mixed doubles and veteran doubles, showcasing top badminton talent from the postal community nationwide.

Inauguration and Valediction Ceremonies

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled on November 10 at 10 AM, with Mysuru- Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, as chief guest and Trupti Murgunde, International Badminton player and Dhyan Chand Awardee as the guest of honour.

The valedictory ceremony on November 14 at 2 PM, will feature Ashish Kumar, Member (Coordination), Postal Services Board and Ashwini Akkunji Chidananda, Olympian and Dhyan Chand Awardee.

S Rajendra Kumar IPOS, Chief Postmaster General of Karnataka Circle, will preside over the inaugural and valedictory ceremonies.

Tournament Highlights

The All India Postal Badminton Tournament not only highlights athletic talent within the Department of Posts, but also serves to strengthen bonds among postal circles, offering an enriching experience for players and spectators alike.

The previous edition was hosted by the Chhattisgarh Circle in Raipur in February 2024, further underscoring the department’s commitment to promoting sports.

Karnataka Postal Circle’s Preparation

In preparation for this year’s tournament, selection trials were held on October 16 at Nova Sports in Bengaluru. Following these trials, 11 players (7 male and 4 female) were chosen to represent the Karnataka Postal Circle, reflecting the region’s strong commitment to the upcoming competition.
