Saturday and Sunday at the PalaPellicone in Ostia the Rome European Open di judo. There will be 248 athletes, coming from 32 nations: there will be 91 Italians, 60 in the men’s categories and 31 in the women’s categories. Laura By Tomathe Italian technical director, spoke like this: “It is a European Open that comes immediately after the Olympics and is a great opportunity in particular for Italian athletes as well as a good restart for all the participants who continue and must get involved for their judo future“.

The large participation of Italian athletes in the competition gives us the awareness that the Italian judo movement has grown exponentially in recent years so many are ready to compete in this type of competition“. Finally Francesco Bruyerewomen’s head coach, said: “A good level race. Clearly after the Olympics most of the top international players are still at rest, but Italy is well represented. I expect many medals from our athletes, this will certainly be a good opportunity to show off themselves in view of the new four-year period. Good luck to everyone“.
