A big loss for a handyman. The most productive player in the Swedish league is not going to Karjala

The 28-year-old Tomášek, who helped the national team win gold at the home world championship in May, is having a great start to the new year. In 14 league games for Färjestad, he scored ten goals and nine assists and reigns in the productivity table of the Swedish top flight, in which he became the best gunner last season.

In the basic group of the Champions League, he helped the team from Karlsatd advance to the knockout stages from first place with four goals. Tomášek shone especially during the 3:2 home win in overtime over Třinec, which he directed with a hat trick.

In Tuesday’s league match against Timra, however, he was injured at the end of the second period and left for the dressing room early. And when he was absent from the match against the Lulea team on Thursday, it was clear that an apology for the national team would also come.

Petr Kodýtek will replace him in Rulík’s selection. The 26-year-old striker fought for participation in the World Cup in Prague this spring, and even completed the first match of the Czech Hockey Games in Brno against Finland, but then Rulík, together with Filip Zadina, eliminated him from the nomination.

In the current season, Kodýtek scored a goal and added 13 assists in the jersey of Finnish IFK Helsinki. He has played 37 matches for the national team and scored six goals.
