Yoann Salmier, Le Havre defender, will be suspended for the match against Nantes on November 24 following a decision by the LFP Disciplinary Commission. This third yellow card in less than ten matches, received against Montpellier, automatically results in a suspension.
Under LFP rules, a player is suspended for one match after receiving three yellow cards in three different matches over a period of ten matches. Salmier had already been warned against Monaco and Rennes before the match against Montpellier.
Yoann Salmier’s suspension will not take effect until November 12, which will allow him to participate in the match against Reims before the international break. However, he will be absent for the match against Nantes.
The Guyanese defender, transferred from ESTAC to Le Havre, started the season with six starts under the direction of Didier Digard. His absence will be felt by the team, as he had earned the trust of his coach with his recent performances.
Nicolas Pallois, defender of FC Nantes, will also miss the match against Le Havre for similar reasons. Having also accumulated three yellow cards in less than ten days, he will be suspended for this same crucial match.
The absences of Salmier and Pallois illustrate the impact of the LFP’s strict rules regarding warnings. They highlight the need for players to manage their aggression on the pitch to avoid suspensions which could disadvantage their team.
