Technology enthusiast met with young people in Konya
Türk Telekom Basketball Team performed 3D scans of its players and created a digital twin of the team.İSTANBUL (İGFA) – For the first time in Turkey, a basketball team took a pioneering step in this field by integrating digital twin and augmented reality technologies into the fan experience.
In this project implemented by Türk Telekom, detailed 3D models of the players were created and a digital copy of the team was prepared. The project aimed to bring a new vision to Turkish sports in the field of digitalization.
Thanks to the new system, fans will be able to interact with athletes and have a one-on-one experience with them through augmented reality (AR) technology. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos or experience unique interaction with digital twins.
With the project in question, the process was completed with the contributions of MetaEntry, one of Turkey’s leading digital twin and artificial intelligence technology companies.
MetaEntry Chairman Nihat Özkurt provided technology support to the project by developing the technical infrastructure of the system. Özkurt stated that the cooperation with Türk Telekom is an important milestone in the name of digitalization in sports.
