November 3, 2024 (change at 9.16pm) – MILAN
Imoco makes no concessions and achieves its seventh consecutive victory, Mims drags Novara to victory in Florence. These are all the results of the 6th day of the women’s A1 volleyball.
Florence–Novara 1-3 (21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 18-25)
—
The positive streak of Igor Gorgonzola Novara continues, winning 3-1 at Palazzo Wanny. For Florence, second consecutive defeat after that of Milan. Alsmeier (ultimately MVP of the match) and De Nardi take everything or almost everything in reception, Mims and Ishikava at full strength (17 and 16 points) and an infinite series of blocks (15) allow AGIL to have the upper hand. For the Bisontines, the awareness of having been in the match for 3 sets, while in the fourth the acceleration of the Piedmontese is devastating and does not allow any type of recovery on the part of the Tuscans. (Simone Corbetta)
Firenze: Nervini 19 points, team blocks 9, team aces 4. Butigan 5 blocks
Novara: Mims 17 points, team blocks 15, team aces 6.
BUSTO-PINEROLO 3-2 (22-25, 29-27, 25-13, 20-25, 15-8)
—
Busto never stops and achieves his third consecutive success (in 8 days) with a 3-2 tiebreak against Pinerolo. The defense makes the difference, in the good moments of both teams, with Wash4Green starting a little more orderly in attack, but the butterflies remain cohesive while Marchiaro in the end has to look for, without finding it, the ideal structure. Tiebreak decided by a turn of serve by Obossa, but the MVP is Piva.
Bust: Piva 25 points, Muri team 11 (Piva 4), Ace team 9 (Kunzler 4, Van Avermaet 3).
Pinerolo: Sorokaite 17 points, Muri team 5, Ace team 6.
Cuneo–Roma 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-22)
—
First victory of the season for Cuneo Granda – after 5 consecutive defeats – which overtakes SMI Roma Volley in the standings, a direct competitor for salvation, taking it to 4 points in the standings. Convincing performance from the entire Pintus team, who, apart from the first set, dominated the match. For the Giallorossi many errors (25), especially on blocks, and little incisiveness in attack (31%). Therefore, the dark period for the Wolves does not end as they receive their fifth consecutive defeat, with the only positive note of seeing Adelusi on the pitch for the entire match. Ana Bjelica, 20 points on the scoresheet, absolute protagonist of the match (MVP) with 45% in attack and excellent blocking action. (Simone Corbetta)
Wedge: Bjelica and Kapralova 20 points, team blocks 14, team aces 6. Polder 4 blocks
Roma: Rotar 15 decks, die squarera 10, ace squarera 4. Rotar 4 dies
Talmassons – Chieri 2-3 (18-25, 25-21, 18-25, 26-24, 10-15)
—
Hard-fought victory for Chieri at the home of the newly promoted Talmassons who, never tamed, gave the Piedmontese a lot of trouble, taking the match to a tie-break. Bregoli’s girls squandered several opportunities to close the match at 3-1, giving 4 points at the end of the fourth set (2 blocks and 2 reception errors by Skinner) to the Friulians who managed to get to 26-24. The home sextet performed excellently as they faced the match head-on against one of the best equipped teams in the A1, gaining a precious point in the key to safety by catching Perugia. (Simone Corbetta)
Talmasson’s: Scherban 18 points, squadra 11 kills, squadra aces 9. Kocic 6 kills, Botezat e Kraiduba 3 aces
Chieri: Giquel 23 points, team blocks 15, team aces 5. Omorury 6 blocks
BERGAMO-VALLEFOGLIA 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-20)
—
Fourth success of the season for Bergamo which flies up the table by beating Vallefoglia 3-1. A long-fought match, with the guests leading the way, led by Lee and a balanced attack. The Orobic teams struggle in reception, but remain attached to the game and find excellent evenings from the central players Manfredini (16 points) and Strubbe (MVP). At distance the home wall grows and the Megabox shuts down in attack, not finding attackers capable of putting the ball on the ground continuously.
Bergamo: Cesè Montalvo 17 points, Muri team 15 (Strubbe 5), Ace team 10 (Manfredini 5).
Vallefoglia: Lee 21 points, Muri team 10 (Candi and Weitzel 4), Ace team 10 (Giovannini and Perovic 3).
CONEGLIANO-SCANDICCI 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 30-28)
—
The usually elusive Conegliano took no prisoners in the 3-0 win over Scandicci, a repeat of the last championship final. Imoco takes the stage and gets the 3 points against a team that tries everything to straighten out the match, led by the usual Antropova. Haak and Gabi (MVP), however, play at very high levels and the Panthers escape at the end of the first set, also extending 14-9 in the second half. Gaspari changes position and recovers, still giving up on the edge. Finally, in the long final point-to-point, a magic by Gabi decides.
Conegliano: Haak 27 points, Muri team 6, Ace team 3.
Scandicci: Antropova 26 points, Muri team 5, Ace team 1.
