A world championship in your pocket. Jeremie Blanchard come back from the experience with his Canada after dragging the national team of which he is captain to win the pass for the world championship scheduled for July in Singapore.
The North American midfielder is fresh from the qualifying round for the next world championship faced with his national team and held in Colombia in recent weeks. Having achieved his objective, JB returns to the Biancazzurra parent company full of enthusiasm for the important result achieved: “I am really very proud of what we have achieved – explains Jeremy – After a few unsuccessful attempts in the last few tournaments, next summer we too will finally return to being protagonists at an international level. It was not an obvious result, also given the great work of renewal and rejuvenation on the staff that was carried out by the federation. But this very aspect makes us look at the future of our movement in Canada with great optimism.”
And speaking of Canadians, Jeremie will meet again in Bogliasco one of his compatriots who recently accepted the court of the first women’s team, involved in Serie A1.: Adrien Van Dyke
“It will be nice to finally have someone close to me who will make me feel a little less far from home. I know Adrien and I have also had the opportunity to speak to her via telephone in recent weeks. Unfortunately, however, here in Bogliasco we have not yet crossed paths since she arrived the day after I left for Colombia. We will still have a chance to make up for it. I want to introduce her to many beautiful places and help her as much as possible in this new experience.”.
Once the national parenthesis is over, now it’s Blanchard’s turn to try to revive the fortunes of a Bogliasco team whose championship certainly didn’t start in the best possible way. Two away defeats and the postponement of the match against Piacenza have not yet allowed Gimmi Guidaldi’s team to move their ranking. And the opponent they face in their home season debut isn’t exactly the easiest to face.
“Torino is one of the candidates to win this championship – admits the blue and white number 5 – But we play at home and we know how important our pool is to us. This year too we want to make Vassallo a fort where no one wants to come and play because they know they are risking a lot. The match will be very tough but we can no longer afford missteps and therefore we must play to the fullest.”
