The Judo Club of La Teste-de-Buch celebrates the qualification of Adil Bennour for the Veteran World Championships which will be held in Las Vegas from November 4 to 11, 2024. Adil has dedicated his life to excelling in this martial art, accumulating national successes before launching into the international arena. This participation marks the pinnacle of his career.
From the age of six, at the urging of his father who wanted to strengthen his self-confidence, Adil discovered judo and quickly became passionate about competition. After a training course at the Dojo Tonic in Toulouse, Adil has accumulated successes. He notably won the French Business Cup in 2006 and qualified for the French 1st division Championships in 2010, reaching his ultimate level in this sport. He then joined the veteran circuit for the first time.
Having since settled in the Arcachon Bay, Adil took a break from his career, but the pleasure of competition never left him. Returning to the veteran circuit, he established himself this year by winning three certified tournaments (Saint-Aubin, Tours and Auch), before securing a magnificent third place at the French Veterans Championships in 2024.
The unwavering support of his club and those close to him
Her best friends, Amélie and Peggy, started a Leetchi fundraiser to raise the funds necessary for this adventure (https://www.leetchi.com/fr/c/adil-aux-championnats-du-monde-1783191?utm_source=copylink&utm_medium=social_sharing). His trainer, Loïc Santa Maria, 3rd Dan black belt, who has followed him since his beginnings, will accompany him to Las Vegas, providing essential technical and moral support in this high-level competition.
Adil is also President of UJBAS (Union Judo Bassin Arcachon Sud) and is actively involved in both clubs. UJBAS and the Teste club participated financially in this great project.
