Adour Dax ended up cracking at Toac

In what was announced as one of this season’s posters for the race for the first places in Pool B, Adour Dax held out for a long time against Toulouse before losing in the last moments of a breathtaking game. It all started badly for Jean-Baptiste Oyhanondo’s men, who quickly led 9-0 and were sterile in their first five possessions. But the Landais were able to come back and were only two points behind at the end of the first quarter (18-16, 10th).

Tense to the end

They then decided to wake up! Ultra-effective on defensive rebounds, this time they adjusted their sights to go in front for the first time in the match (21-22, 13th). An advantage held until the break. Then the second half… If Julien Dulouat and his teammates responded with the intensity and impact, which had gone up a notch, it was this time if the precision and realism in the racket were lacking , during a mano a mano in a crescendo rising atmosphere.

And it was ultimately the last two minutes of the match that decided the fate of this clash. And unfortunately for the evening visitors, it didn’t work out in their favor. At the end of the game which became tense, as much by the game and the magnificent duels proposed by Séguéla and Mansaré in particular, as by certain refereeing decisions, which scalded the benches. And as a symbol, for his birthday, it was Boulaire who sealed the outcome of this match by two three points. Final score 75-67, a success which sees the Toulouse residents return to the level of the ADB, at the foot of the podium.

Reaction

Jean-Baptiste Oyhanondo (Adour Dax coach): “The defensive errors in the second half made the difference. There are these two three-point shots from Boulaire that hurt us, but it was a game against a very good team. I don’t know if we would have won, but I would have preferred it to be the players who decided rather than the refereeing. But we’re not going to hide behind that! It’s a good team that was fair. »
