Persib Bandung‘s new striker, Dimas Drajad, received sanctions from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The parent football organization on the Asian continent imposed a heavy punishment on Dimas Drajad after receiving a red card in the match against Lion City Sailors, 24 October 2024.
In the match which ended with a 1-1 draw in Group F of the AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2), Dimas Drajad was sent off by the referee in the 51st minute. Dimas was given a red card after he could not control his anger by headbutting Lion City Sailors player, Bailey Wright, in a match held at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency.
Based on the results of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee hearing on October 29 2024, the AFC imposed heavy sanctions on Dimas Drajad. Dimas was banned from playing for three matches in ACL 2 due to the red card he received.

“Muhamad Dimas Drajad was banned from playing for three matches, including an automatic ban, because he was sent off in the Persib Bandung match against Lion City Sailors FC (SGP) on October 24 2024,” read the sanction statement for Dimas Drajad from AFC. as quoted by detikJabar, Sunday (3/11/2024).
With this witness, Dimas had to be willing to miss the match with Persib against Lion City Sailors (7 November), Port FC (28 November) and Zhejiang FC (5 December). In fact, Persib is currently struggling to improve its position which is stuck at the bottom of Group F ACL 2 standings.
Apart from the ban on playing, the AFC also imposed a fine on Dimas Drajad worth USD 1,500. If converted into rupiah, the fine that Dimas must pay is around IDR 23.7 million.
“Muhamad Dimas Drajad was ordered to pay a fine of USD 1,500 in accordance with Article 4.1.2 of the AFC Disciplinary Circular for LCA 2 2024/25,” added the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Committee decision statement.
“The fine will be settled within 30 days from the date this Decision is delivered in accordance with Article 11.3 of the AFC Code of Discipline and Ethics. Muhamad Dimas Drajad is informed that repeated violations of this provision may be subject to heavier penalties,” concluded the statement.
Not only Dimas, AFC also imposed similar sanctions on Lion City Sailors player, Bart Ramselaar. The striker with number 10 was also shown a red card in the 90+6 minute after making a hard tackle on a Persib Bandung player.
However, the sanctions for Bart Ramselaar are slightly lighter. He was only banned from playing in two matches with Lion City Sailors in the ACL 2 competition. Then, the AFC fined him USD 1,500.
