In the tenth edition of the Latin American Police and Firefighters Games that are held this time in the city of Cali, Colombia, members of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City have 10 medals won in judo, swimming, jiujitsu and boxing.
The delegation made up of 50 SSC uniformed personnel competes in the disciplines of chess, athletics, crossfit, judo, jiujitsu, swimming and basketball and after three days, they have won 14 medals: five gold, five silver and four bronze.
On the third day of the jousts held, in the judo discipline, Third Police Ramsés Ibarra Segura took the third place medal in the open category of 90 kilogram fighters; while in the 100 kilogram category he was crowned the absolute champion by taking the gold medal.
In the same specialty, Police Officer Alberto Robledo Vilchis won the first place medal in the 70 kilogram category and third place in the 100 kilogram category.
In women’s swimming, in the 800 meter freestyle category, First Police Citlalli de los Ángeles Cabrera was crowned the gold medal champion, while the silver was awarded to Petty Officer Mariana Nava Vara.
For their part, the jiujitsu competitors, in the category greater than 100 kilograms, Ramsés Ibarra obtained third place; and in the 70 kilogram division, Alberto Robledo rose to the top of the podium.
In the men’s boxing branch, in the 75 kilogram category, First Policeman Jhovani Ortiz Vega and Third Policeman Hugo Gallardo Tapia took the silver and bronze medals, coming in second and third place, respectively.
While in the 72 kilogram category, Second Police Javez David Loza García obtained the silver medal, the same metal that his partner First Police Javier Hernández Martínez won in the 67 kilogram category.
In the women’s category, two uniformed officers achieved two victories: Officer Ana Karen Hernández Ramírez of the Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) won the gold medal, and Third Police Pérez Rojas Guadalupe of the Ateneas group won the metal. silver
It is worth mentioning that, since their first broadcast in 2013, the Latin American Games have been held in 10 cities in four different countries, which allows participants, police officers and athletes, to compete with effort, dedication and preparation in their disciplines; The police officers of Mexico City intervene with a high level of physical and mental strength, which has led them to be in the first three places in the different sports disciplines.
Through these activities, the SSC provides uniformed personnel with a space to share experiences, coexist and strengthen ties through sports, as well as promote institutional values and principles that promote physical and mental health.
On this occasion, the games began on November 16 and will end on the 23rd of this month, days in which the troops of this Secretariat will still compete.
