Bad fall for the boysAGN Energia Bogliasco 1951. In the third round of Serie A2 Gimmi Guidaldi’s biancazzurri lost 13-10 at Milano Metanopoli, throwing away the opportunity to move the table after the defeat suffered on their debut against Chiavari and the postponement of the match against Piacenza.
The Biancazzurri coach’s comment at the end of the match was very harsh: “Today there is absolutely nothing to save – declared Guidaldi – We got everything wrong: attitude, way of attacking, of defending ourselves, of reacting. All. Credit to them for winning, but we handed it to them on a silver platter. We missed Blanchard so much, due to his absence due to commitments with the national team we had asked for a postponement which Milan did not want to grant us. Evidently they understood the value that Jeremie has for us. But this cannot be an alibi for the terrible performance we gave. Compared to two weeks ago, when we left Chiavari to applause, today we have taken a hundred steps backwards. And on Saturday league leaders Torino arrive at Vassallo in another match that promises to be very difficult.”
And to think that things seemed to be taking the right direction for the white and blues, authors of a good start to the match which saw them take a double lead three times in the first quarter of the game. Milan, however, did not lose their composure, they remained in their wake and after arriving at the long half-time draw, they put the arrow in the third half, making a breakthrough which in all things would prove to be decisive. Dazed by the Milanese reaction, Bogliasco is unable to shake itself, slowly fading away and leaving its opponents with a crescendo ending.
