It took place on Friday 29 November, in the Palazzo Mostre e Congressi “G. Morra” in Alba, theAlba Sport Awards 2024which awarded the athletes and sports associations of Alba, followed by the usual appointment with the delivery of the merits from Conia recognition that the regional committee pays to some athletes, but also clubs, sports associations, managers and technicians, who have distinguished themselves for the activities carried out, giving prestige to Italian sport.

A long list of awarded athletes from Alba, for which we will only mention the respective sports clubs, at the hands of the mayor of Alba, Alberto Gattoof the sports councillor, Davide Tibaldiof the president of the municipal council, Maurizio Marelloof the councilors Donatella Croce, Lucia Vignolo, Roberto Cavallothe councillors Stefania Manassero, Ali Draichi, Mario Marano, Mario Gaspare Saturnino.

Also special prize to: ASD Ballonistica Albeseto the tireless coach Sandro Sandrito the young promise of national football from Alba, Cristiano Dottacurrently playing for Milan FC andASD Victoria Alba Skatingfor its 50 years of activity.
In the second part of the evening, dedicated to merit, there were also many athletes from Cuneo awarded by the provincial delegate of CONI, Claudia Martintogether with the provincial councilor, Simon Manzone and to the trustees of the Alba-Bra area, Paolo BarberoMondovì, Ezio Tino and Savigliano-Saluzzo, Patrick Mogan.
The awards ceremony opened with the presentation of the awards to the sports associations in the province of Cuneo which in the year ’23/24 joined the initiative of the “CONI centres”, a national project, dedicated to children aged 5 to 14, which brings together several sports associations from different disciplines in synergy and collaboration. In this way the technicians “get involved” by combining and sharing their specific knowledge, to build together a multidisciplinary path of sporting growth, which places young athletes at the centre, which is engaging and stimulating and which facilitates, at the same time, the complete development of their skills and competences.

Following the most awaited moment of the evening, with the awarding of the award: “Stars for Sports Merit“, which are assigned to the managers and those who are most committed to the dissemination and carrying out of the sporting activity, together with the delivery of the and “Medals for Technical Valor”, aimed at great champions.
Due to the stop due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the committee awarded the prizes approximately two years late.

The “Medals for Athletic Valor” were instead assigned to the people of Alba: Sara Bonifaciovolleyball player, 3rd place in the 2022 World Championship and 2021 European Champion; Matteo Sobrerocyclist, 2nd place at the 2022 World Championship, mixed team relay road race, the athletes of the province were also awarded: Alberto Demarchitriathlete, 2nd place in the individual duathlon World Cup; Manuel RevelliEuropean Team Hang Gliding Champion; Katia Tomatisfor ski mountaineering, 4th and 5th place in the World Championship and 4th and 6th in the 2015 – 2016 World Cup individual, relay, vertical race and pairs, Italian Champion 2015; Jose BencosmeOlympic athlete in London 2012.
