Alejandro “Petaca” Buseghin and his passion for sports and the Evita Games

Professor Alejandro “Petaca” Buseghin shared his perspective on the importance of sport in the community and his recent experience accompanying young people at the Evita Games in Mar del Plata.

During the interview with The Crackthe charismatic teacher highlighted the relevance of this competition for the sports development of young people and his efforts to promote activities such as badminton, a sport that he has managed to promote in Avellaneda and throughout the province of Santa Fe.

Buseghin recalled his first steps in the Evita Games, emphasizing how this platform allows non-federated students to experience the sport on a national level. “It is a unique opportunity for the children of our schools, something that many would never have been able to know if it were not for the Evita,” he said. In addition, he explained that the format of the competition has evolved over the years, highlighting how in its beginnings the province of Santa Fe allowed the participation exclusively of school and non-federated students, which, according to him, offered a more inclusive perspective. and educational.

However, Buseghin expressed his concern about the recent reduction of disciplines in the Evita Games, explaining that only sports with a projection towards the Dakar 2026 Youth Games have been preserved. This decision, made by the national government, has generated lower participation compared to previous years, which, in his opinion, limits opportunities for young people from various locations in Santa Fe.

Badminton, one of the disciplines that Buseghin has promoted in the region, had a special role. Through his association, he has worked to establish a solid structure in Santa Fe, managing to organize provincial championships and motivating more young people to become interested in the sport. In this way, promising young people, like Mateo Jara, have come to represent Argentina in international competitions, the result of the efforts of a team led by Buseghin and Florencia François, along with a group of committed parents.

During the interview, he also called for the need to return to the intercollegiate spirit, highlighting that compulsory secondary school should become the nucleus where young people develop their sporting skills. In addition, he urged to seek more agreements between schools, clubs and municipalities to improve infrastructure and access to different sports.

Finally, Buseghin thanked everyone who has supported his initiatives and expressed his hope that young people in the region can continue to have access to this type of competition, vital for their personal and sporting growth.
