Cuba has already begun its journey through the third version of the most important tournament of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation, the Premier-12. It is a contest that brings together the dozen that top the world’s baseball ranking, and in which the Greater Antilles has not done very well in its first two editions.

In the premiere of this tournament, in 2015, the Cubans finished in sixth position, after falling, in the quarterfinals phase, against the representative of South Korea, by 7-2, who ultimately ended up winning the first competition of this guy. Then, in the group stage they won and lost two, before being eliminated by that Asian team.

The performance in 2019 was even poorer, as it did not make it past the opening round, in which it could only beat Australia, and lost to Canada and South Korea itself.

For this edition, the team is much more versatile, consequently, more coherent in the face of the dissimilar demands that a ball game poses; It has balance in its offensive lines and attributes of all dimensions: touch, strength and speed in attack.

Their pitching, led by stars Liván Moinelo and Raidel Martínez, seems ready to ensure a high level of aspirations.

It is a very similar team to the one that achieved fourth place in the last World Classic.
