He does it after a “truce” of a few weeks without competition and leaves as main favorite being first seeded. “There is a lot of rivalry and anyone can win. If I play at the level that I am showing, I can opt to be on top. Whoever knows how to handle pressure conditions better, the nerves and all those attitudes that occur in these championships, he will take it. Personally, I have very good feelings training and I’m going for it,” says the player who plays for Ravachol, whose first obstacle will be the Asturian Yago García.
Roberto Mollinedo is in charge of the double participation of Huesca La Magia with Gonzalo Isábal and Andrea Mingarro. Gonzalo’s coach fully trusts in his pupil’s possibilities. “He arrives in very good shape and is going to look for the three finals. We know that the calendar is demanding and that you will fight to advance as much as you can in the three modalities. It is a very even and balanced championship and it is essential to know how to control emotions,” says Roberto Mollinedo.
In the individual draw their first rival will be the Chinese from CB Alicante Jiaxi Zuo, in men’s doubles they will face Ian Antón-Miguel Pérez and in mixed doubles Carlos Dueñas-Paula Yedra.
The Huesca La Magia coach alsorefers to Andrea Mingarro in the hope that “she can perform according to her level” and considers it very important “to see how he faces the feelings regarding the demands of the championship.”
Mingarro, exempt in the first round in singles, is paired in women’s doubles with Madrid’s Victoria Burgos (Ciudad de Villalba) and to start they will have Lucía Barbero-Lucía Marqueño as opponents.
On the part of the VV Osca, Emma Bibián has qualified to play in both singles and doubles, along with his regular partner Ana Ruiz from CB Daroca. As this is a knockout tournament, its objective is to “Go through rounds and try to get as far as possible, being aware that they are going to face rivals with a lot of potential and whose federations and clubs have many more resources than ours. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the members of the club, who hope that their young player performs well this year in this tournament since she arrives in great shape,” says her father and coach.
