The city of Napoli is about to launch an ambitious project entitled “Sport is support”, aimed at providing sporting and cultural activities to young people aged between 14 and 34. The initiative, financed by Sports and Health and promoted by Ministry for Sport and Youthfocuses on young people who live in conditions of social hardship, offering them a space to welcome and enhance their resources.
The proposed activities
The project includes a wide range of free courses, including rugby, judo, gymnastics e pilatestogether with laboratories of ancient Neapolitan games and seminars ondiet. These activities will take place at the Partenope sports centrelocated near the Albricci stadium and of business center of Naples. The leader of the project is the Partenope Rugby Club Juniorwhich was awarded the financing through a specific tender. The main objective of “Sport is support” is to free young people from situations of isolation and discomfort, promoting their well-being and the acquisition of new skills.
In addition to sports courses, the project offers the possibility of obtaining a “license” to become federal technicianand also includes courses sports journalism. These opportunities represent an important opportunity for growth and training, which could become a springboard for many young people.
Support for young people and the community
Paola Gelorminipresident of Partenope Rugby Club Junioremphasized how the project represents an important opportunity for children in difficulty. “The idea is to use rugby, a sport that embodies fundamental values, as a tool to attract young people,” he explained gelormini. Celebration of the start of the project
The start of the initiative saw the participation of several prominent figures in the world of sport, with the presence of former athletes of the Partenope. Among the guests were Alessandro Gelorminipresident of the association Partenope sports cluband the samples Raffaele D’Orazio e Vincenzo Trapanesewho wrote the history of Italian rugby in the 60s.
