AMRAVATI’S Ritesh Anantwar emerged champion in the men’s singles (35) event of the Yonex-Sunrise Achievers Cup Vidarbha Level Badminton Tournament that concluded at Achievers Badminton Academy Hall, Near Podar International School, Besa on Sunday.
The event, held under the aegis of Maharashtra Badminton Association, was organised by Achievers Badminton Academy, a unit of Swami Samartha Sports and Welfare Association and Nagpur District Badminton Association.
In the MS 35 final, Anantwar defeated Balkrishna Bhave of Nagpur in straight games 21-15, 21-16 to win title.
In the semis, Bhave got the better of Prakash Satpaise (CHA) in three games after losing the first one 19-21, 21-11, 21-10 while Anantwar defeated Gaurav Sahare of GDBA 21-15, 21-16.
