«A closed basketball league on the NBA model in Europe? I’d like that». As Andrea Bargnani regarding the possibility, raised by some international media, that the NBA lands in Europe with its own tournament, separate from Fiba and in competition with the Euroleague.
Bargnani’s words
«Any model that comes from the NBA should be welcomed with open arms because it is a model that works very well, from the point of view of entertainment, business and sport. Instead, in Europe we have a model that doesn’t work that well, especially from a sustainability point of view».
«I honestly didn’t expect EA7 Milan and Segafredo Bologna to start with so many difficulties in the Euroleague – adds the former Italian centre, first overall pick in the 2006 draft and guest of the NBA Store in Milan for a Meet&Greet with the fans – even though it has now become a truly high-level competition. But I’m convinced they will bounce back soon because there are many games ahead.”
