The athlete from Sebastián will participate in the women’s singles and doubles events, in the latter with her partner Claudia Gallego with whom she has finally been able to achieve classification.
The event will have the participation of 197 athletes, between both categories, with a total of 78 participating clubs.
Today Selenia Pla will also travel to the Castilian town of Moral de Calatrava in La Mancha to participate in a new test of the National Parabadminton Circuit. Specifically, this is the fifth and last event of the 2024 season, where the Setabense will participate in the individual, mixed and inclusive events.
1st Day of the “Sports Games of the Valencian Community”
Tomorrow the first day of the “Jocs Esportius de la Comunitat Valenciana” in the children’s category will be held in the Alicante town of El Campello. The Xàtiva Badminton Club will be present on this day with a total of fifteen athletes from the Under-13 and Under-15 categories who will compete alongside a total of 86 athletes from the rest of the clubs and sports schools in the Valencian Community.

On Sunday the competition returns to the town of El Campello, this time it focuses on the absolute and senior categories where the Badminton Club will once again have a presence in both campaigns. The Municipal Pavilion facilities will host a total of 74 athletes from 15 clubs.
The last weekend
Last Saturday, November 16, the town of Xàtiva hosted the opening day of a new edition of the “Jocs Esportius de la Comunitat Valenciana”, on this occasion this first day was dedicated to the cadet category (U-17) that met in the Pavilion Municipal Francisco Ballester of Xàtiva to a total of 52 athletes from 13 municipal clubs and schools in the Valencian Community.
The representation from Sebastián was made up of six athletes, Meshack Martínez, Alexis Piñero, Aleix Seguí, Irene Orquín, Carlos Chornet and Martin Cerver (in the photo) who achieved acceptable percentages, since 50% of victories were achieved in the individual section and the 67% in doubles. In both tests the most experienced athletes did not fail and achieved full victories, as is the case of Irene Orquín, Alexis Piñero and Meshack Martínez).
Also on Saturday, November 16, the senior category player, Daniel Meseguer, traveled to the Region of Murcia, who participated in the TOP TTR Sub 11, Sub 15, Sub 19 and Senior.
We begin the sports summary of the day with the men’s doubles +35 event where he formed a pair with the athlete Miguel Ángel Diaz from CB Cartagena, together with him they achieved second place in group A which gave them access to the final phase, where in the semifinals They faced the duo formed by Pedro Manuel Caparros and Richard Mcsorley who won 21-12 and 21-18, with a much more even second set. Finally bronze for the couple formed by Daniel and Miguel.
We finished with the mixed doubles event of the +40 category, she competed alongside the CB Aspe player, Perrine Emilie Langlois, with whom she also made it to the knockout phase after achieving second place in group A. Already in the semifinals they lost against the who would finally be the winners of the tournament, the couple composed of Richard Mcsorley and Lada Sindiukova. In this way, Daniel added the second bronze of the day.
