The locals try to manage the match and keep Messina at a safe distance with free throws from Milojevic and Valle (65-48). In an instant, however, Di Dio lights up, reducing the gap to -9 (65-56). The resurrected Martinez is the one to lift the hosts, with the bomb of his thirtieth personal point (68-56). The Argentine challenge continues with Di Dio, who scores 68-58, which leads to the fourth period. The grey-reds have a decline and Messina takes advantage of it to reopen everything with Miaffo for 68-63, which this time leads Chiavazzo to have to call a suspension. Milojevic, luckily, scores from below and Valle scores a technical protest (84-76). The Peloritani feel the pinch this time. An extraordinary Milojevic thus goes on to support the 86-76. Valle’s free throws seal a more than deserved success.
