Intense weekend for the Byzantine Archers of Ravenna, busy between Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November on two competition fields. Twelve archers competing on Saturday 2nd in Riccione in the “Xth City of Riccione Indoor Trophy“. Debut for our youngest archers of the Pinocchio group, who faced their first competition and had the satisfaction of getting on the podium both individually and as a team. First race at 18 meters for Anna Maria Shengelia who wins the gold medal with 417 points in the OL Giovanissimi female category. First race ever for Noemi Della Rocca who came second with 365 points and Sara Baldini third with 298 also in the OL Giovanissimi female category. Fourth place for Emily Bazzocchi with 109 points. Fourth place and debut also for Michelangelo Merengo in the very young men’s OL category with 219 points. Shengelia-Della Rocca-Baldini, win the team gold medal with a score of 1080. Podium and new personal record for Nicola Barlotti who also scores 507 (249+258) points in Riccione, winning the gold medal in the OL category RM. Closing the podiums for the OL bow is Marcello Tozzola who wins the gold medal with 573 (281+292) in the MM category. The podiums were inevitable for the AN, where, in an attempt to qualify the SM team for the next Italian Indoor Championships in February 2025, the Giallorossi masters competed in the higher category, i.e. senior. Despite the increase in category difficulty, the people from Ravenna colored the 3 quarters of the podium yellow-red with the silver of Simone Pizzi with the score of 521 (270+251) and the bronze of Denis Costantini (the only effective senior) with the score of 516 (263+253) which also achieved his personal best. The team made up of Pizzi-Costantini-Venturi ranked first with a score of 1537. Matelda Miolo also returned to the competition and won gold with a score of 499 (244+255) in the AN JF category. Placements for Massimo Venturi 4th with 500 points and Loris Miolo 6th with 472.
The Byzantines try again in Zola the next day in the “Indoor City of Zola” where they don’t leave much space for their opponents. After the “training” of the day before, Marcello Tozzola dominates both the OL MM and AN SM rankings where he scores a golden double: 576 (285+291) points for OL and 534 (272+262 ) points with the AN, where he also sets his personal and company records. The other Byzantines in the race were slightly delayed: once again just a whisker away from the podium Massimo Venturi 4th with 512 (254+258), 5th Denis Costantini with 504 (244+260), 6th Simone Pizzi with 501 (242+259 ) and 8th Loris Miolo with 469 (234+235). The team made up of Tozzola-Venturi-Costantini improved the score obtained the day before in Zola by placing a 1550 which earned them the gold medal and valuable positions in the general classification. In the women’s sector, silver podium for Angela Padovani with 464 (234+230) points in the AN MF category and gold for Matelda Miolo with 491 (241+250) points in the AN JF category. Placement for Sabrina Bandini 6th at 435 AN MF.
