With an investment of 20 million dollars and with the presence of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, the Arizona Diamondbacks franchise inaugurated its modern academy in the Los Caracoles community, in Boca Chica.
The new building, with capacity for 100 baseball players, is equipped with an attractive gym, locker rooms, hydromassage area, training room, bedrooms for players, staff and dining room, among other areas. In addition to President Abinader, the Minister of Sports, engineer Kelvin Cruz, was present at the inauguration ceremony, who praised the initiative of the high command of the Diamondbacks, a team from the National League of the Major Leagues.
Among the organization’s directors were the president and CEO, Derick Hall; executive vice president Mike Hazen, as well as Cullen Maxey, vice president for Latin America, and Dominican Junior Noboa, National Baseball Commissioner; Mariana Patraca, Manager International Baseball Operations and Scouting; César Gerónimo, Vice President of Scouting and Player Development for Latin America.
In addition, Jorge Pérez Díaz, vice president of MLB, and Yerik Pérez, from the MLB Office in the country; the senator of San Cristóbal Gustavo Lara, and General Jacobo Mateo Moquete, among others.
Junior Noboa had words of gratitude for the President of the Republic Luis Abinader, as well as for the directors of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
“Thanks to the Arizona managers for believing in me, for valuing my work, to President Luis Abinader for believing in the baseball industry,” said Noboa, who also noted that during President Abinader’s administration, some five academies.
