His family came to know about his disability a year after his birth. When he was one year old he could not walk. At that time he consulted many doctors, but did not get any benefit from the treatment. Lakshya’s mother Nisha Gupta told that she lives in Amaulik Heights Society. Due to his disability, many schools had refused to give him admission. Apart from this, after visiting many schools, the MVN school management gave him admission. Today he is in 12th class and studies with normal children. Nisha Gupta told that due to pinched nerve he was not able to sleep at the time of birth. Cried for about half an hour after birth.

Nisha Gupta told that Lakshya was born in the year 2008. Everything was fine till that time. His father abandoned him when he was one year old after finding out about his disability. He told that her father even tried to kill Lakshya, but she left her in-laws and started living in Amaulik Heights along with her father. He started playing table tennis at the age of 10.

Nisha Gupta told that on her birthday someone had gifted her a table tennis bat. From there he became friends with table tennis. Today he has made his mark at the international level. He told that Paralympic medalist club thrower Pranab Surma also used to play table tennis in the beginning and Lakshn has defeated him many times in table tennis matches.

Along with table tennis, he also practices club throw.

Apart from Lakshya State Sports Complex, Manav also practices table tennis at Rachna Sports Academy. Apart from this, the club practices throw near Narasiram, who has given many players to Smart City. Paralympian Kanchan Lakhani is also helping him a lot in making him a better player.
