Interviewed by MarkSpanish captain David Ferrer is preparing for the final stages of the Davis Cup (November 19 to 24 in Malaga) in a necessarily special context since his friend and legendary compatriot, Rafael Nadal, will bid farewell to tennis there.
“It’s true that I’m four or five years older than him and you never know what can happen. It is clear that my career, since I retired, has evolved: coach, tournament director and Davis Cup captain. And I have this possibility. If someone had told me six years ago that I would be giving him instructions, I wouldn’t necessarily have believed it, but now there is that possibility. I’m happy and I feel lucky to be able to experience these things, to be close to these special moments. »
