There were around 200 badistas this Saturday in Bastogne: 110 among adults, 90 among young people aged 9 to 19. For years, this type of tournament has highlighted players in a “D” category, for beginners. In recent months, the French-speaking League has introduced a new category: “C”, for experienced players. In each age series, we now find these 2 categories. A concept introduced for the first time in an official tournament in our Province.
In summary, the “C” pits the best in their age category against each other. This obviously implies that players have more competitive matches, that they must also improve their positioning or their touch on the ball to surprise their opponent. The level has increased, so young badistas should progress more quickly than before.
In Bastogne, we found the main clubs of the Province and also some players from the Liège region or Verviers. Young people who come above all to have fun before any possible competitive spirit. The Bastogne club can be proud of this edition which brought together around 200 players, proof that this sport is growing since the health crisis.
